José Mourinho held a press conference recently, where he clearly showed his unhappiness. He wasn’t shy about Fenerbahçe’s slow approach in the transfer market. But one specific comment he made quickly became the talk of social media.
Mourinho was asked about some remarks from Hamdi Akin, a vice-president at the Turkish club. Akin had spoken about the upcoming match against Benfica and also mentioned player Kerem Aktürkoglu. Mourinho’s response was blunt. He claimed he didn’t know who Akin was.
This claim didn’t sit well with the internet crowd. Social media users quickly remembered something a little different. They dug up an old post by Hamdi Akin himself. It showed a very friendly scene: both men, Mourinho and Akin, sharing a meal.
The photo, which was dated June 4th of last year, painted a picture quite unlike Mourinho’s recent statement. There they were, having lunch together. It definitely makes you wonder if “The Special One” has a short memory, or perhaps a tactical one.
