Mourinho Comments on Galatasaray Coach Incident After Fenerbahçe Win

Jose Mourinho wasn’t one to hold back after his team’s big 4-1 win over Trabzonspor. When asked about the drama between him and Galatasaray’s coach Okan Buruk during a recent derby match, he initially said he didn’t want to talk about it. But that didn’t last long.

Mourinho had been suspended for three games due to an incident where he pinched his nose at Buruk – a move that got him in trouble, but won’t affect his team’s performance in the Turkish super league. The suspension will be served during the Taça competition instead.

“I don’t want to give an answer that might be dangerous,” Mourinho said with a smirk. “Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words.” He left it at that, but the implication was clear: the incident was blown out of proportion. When pressed for more details, he joked that even Hollywood must have taken notice of Buruk’s over-the-top reaction. “I’m sure they saw it,” he said with a chuckle.

Mourinho’s comments sparked a lot of interest, but he stuck to his story. “If I tell you what happened, it’s my version. The Galatasaray coach has a different version. Words don’t mean much – the images speak for themselves.” It was clear that Mourinho thought the whole thing was a bit ridiculous, and he wasn’t afraid to say so.
