Motorola’s 6mm Moto X70 Air Packs 4,800 mAh Battery

Motorola has introduced its slimmest smartphone to date, the Moto X70 Air, combining an unusually large battery with a premium feature set in a mid-range device.

Measuring just 6 millimeters thick and weighing 159 grams, the X70 Air challenges premium models like the iPhone Air, which is 5.6 mm thick and weighs 165 grams, and the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, at 5.8 mm and 163 grams. Despite its slender profile, the device is equipped with a 4,800 mAh battery, a significantly larger capacity than the 3,149 mAh in the iPhone Air and 3,900 mAh in the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. The battery supports 65W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging capabilities.

Powering the Moto X70 Air is Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, a mid-range processor built on a 4-nanometer process with speeds up to 2.80 GHz. It is paired with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and offers 256 GB or 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The phone features a 6.7-inch flat OLED display with a 1220p+ resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate, offering smooth visuals and a peak brightness of 4,500 Nits. An under-display fingerprint sensor is integrated, alongside a 50-megapixel front-facing camera.

For photography, the Moto X70 Air includes a 50-megapixel main rear camera, utilizing a Samsung image sensor, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 120-degree field of view. The device is built with durable materials, designed to withstand drops from multiple angles. It also carries an IP68/69 rating for water and dust resistance, allowing submersion in 1.5 meters of fresh water for 30 minutes and protection against high-pressure, hot water jets.

Motorola collaborated with Pantone for the phone’s color palette, offering Gadget Gray, Lily Pad, and Bronze Green. Each color variant features distinct colored rings around the rear cameras and a unique power button hue.

The Moto X70 Air is currently available in China through Lenovo.com. Motorola expects to launch the device globally soon under the name Edge 70, with pricing details to be announced at that time.
