The XDA Developers publication advances with the first details of the next digital pen that Motorola is developing. This promises to be the most evolved company ever owned by Lenovo and will take aim at Samsung’s S Pen.
As the source could verify, it will not be an accessory that allows writing on the smartphone. The new needle Motorola will have top-of-the-range features with the aim of finally being a worthy rival to the Korean accessory.

Samsung has always enjoyed a prominent position when it comes to the symbiosis between the smartphone and a digital pen. Only Motorola dared to confront the Galaxy Note line with the G Stylus line, however, these are mid-range devices.
This discrepancy promises to be resolved with the launch of Motorola’s new high-end digital pen. This new accessory should be aimed at the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, but we still don’t know if both will be revealed at the same time.
This new Motorola accessory will be called Smart Stylus and will connect to the smartphone via Bluetooth. It will support so-called “air gestures” that allow you to perform some actions from a distance and can be conveniently carried wirelessly.
As soon as the Smart Stylus is connected to the Edge 30 Ultra, a bubble will appear on the device with various information about the accessory. There it will be possible to access relevant data, such as the battery status of this accessory.
There will be a cover to carry and charge the Smart Stylus
To give even more emphasis to this new accessory, Motorola is preparing to launch the Folio Case. This will be a protective case for the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra that will also carry the Smart Stylus and charge it.
Once users remove the digital pen from the Folio case, Bluetooth will be automatically activated on the smartphone. The user can also define an application that will open automatically whenever the Smart Stylus is removed from this cover.
The Folio Case will have its own assets in addition to serving as a support and charging base for the brand’s new digital pen. Specifically, it will have a strip on the front where users can easily access important information such as time, date, notifications and remaining battery.
Whenever a call arrives at the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, the user can answer or reject it without opening the cover. Features that won’t sound strange to users of other mobile technology brands.
It remains to be seen when these new Motorola-branded products will be unveiled. They’ll likely be announced when the Edge 30 Ultra is revealed, but we don’t know when that will happen either.
