Motorcyclist Killed in Cerro Largo Road Accident After Car Collision

A 76-year-old motorcyclist died in a traffic accident on Wednesday afternoon. The crash happened around 2:40 pm on route 26, near the city of Melo in Cerro Largo.

The accident involved two cars: a Fiat Punto driven by a 35-year-old man and a Volkswagen Gol with a 39-year-old driver. The collision between the two vehicles sent one of the cars crashing into the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, identified as F.O.M., died instantly. The driver of the Fiat was unharmed and passed a breathalyzer test. The person in the Volkswagen also walked away without injuries.

Circumstances of the crash

The police reported that the road was wet from rain, and visibility was poor. There was also a sharp curve with limited visibility to the right, heading west to east. These conditions may have contributed to the accident.

  • The motorcyclist was 76 years old.

The police are still investigating the accident.
