The French Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) took victory in the MotoGP race that took place at the Silverstone circuit, venue of the Great Britain Grand Prix, within the framework of the twelfth date of the World Championship of motorcycling competition and established itself at the top of the championship. The Spanish Alex Rins (Suzuki) was placed in second position and his compatriot Aleix Esparagaró (Aprilia) culminated in third place.
At the start of the race Pol Espargaró started from pole and dominated during the first five laps, until he was overtaken by Quartararo, who recovered from a bad game and managed to advance and conquer the leadership of the race and ended up staying with the victory.
While, in fourth place was Jack Miller (Ducati) followed by Pol Espargaró (Honda) who finished in fifth place, while Brad Binder (KTM) was sixth, Iker Lecouna (KTM) seventh, Alex Márquez (Honda) eighth, Joan Mir (Suzuki) ninth and Danilo Petrucci (KTM) closed the top ten.
Those outside the top ten are Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), who finished in fourteenth position, and Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) who finished in eighteenth.
For his part Spaniards Marc Márquez (Honda) and Jorge Martín (Ducati) left after Márquez lost the front end when trying to get ahead on the first lap.
With 206 points, Fabio Quartararo took a difference in the leadership of the championship, beating Joan Mir by 65 units, and Johann Zarco by 69, which finished eleventh in the competition played this Sunday.
The next MotoGP appointment will be the weekend of September 11 and 12, in the Aragon circuit, Spain.
