Moto2 Assen: Ai Ogura wins the race, Sergio García Dols suffers from grip problems and takes third place

Ai Ogura has won the Moto2 race at Assen, taking advantage of Aldeguer’s punishment to secure the victory. The Japanese rider crossed the finish line with a comfortable margin, ahead of the second-placed Aldeguer and third-placed Sergio García Dols.

The race was marked by high temperatures, with the sun beating down on the circuit and the asphalt reaching 38 degrees Celsius. The heat affected the riders, particularly García Dols, who struggled with grip problems towards the end of the race.

Ogura made a strong start, winning the holeshot ahead of Aldeguer and Sergio García Dols. However, the Japanese rider was overtaken by Fermín and García Dols at the early stages of the race, and had to drop back to fifth position.

The leader suffered a few scares while trying to keep up with Aldeguer, but managed to control his bike and accept third place. Aldeguer was unable to pass Ogura, who maintained a strong pace throughout the race.

The result sees Ogura extend his lead in the championship standings, moving 14 points clear of Aldeguer and 23 points clear of Roberts. Sergio García Dols suffered a slight setback, dropping to fourth place in the standings, but remains confident of challenging for the title.

The Moto2 championship continues at the next round in Barcelona, where the riders will face another tough test.
