Morlaye Sylla Joins Damac FC, Reuniting with Armando Evangelista in Saudi Arabia

Midfielder Morlaye Sylla is off to a fresh start. After three seasons playing for Arouca, his career now takes him to Saudi Arabia. The 27-year-old international from Guinea Conakry recently signed with Damac. He was introduced by the club in the past few hours. His new deal will keep him there until 2027. Sylla even played for Arouca’s under-19 team many years ago.

This transfer also brings a familiar face back into Sylla’s professional life. He will reunite with Portuguese coach Armando Evangelista at Damac. The two worked together back in the 2022/23 season. That was when Sylla returned to Arouca, often called “the Wolves.” That year was a huge success for the club. They earned a spot in European competitions for only the second time in their history.

Morlaye Sylla’s time with Arouca had already come to a close. His contract was expiring, and he said his goodbyes to the club in June. During his tenure with the Wolves, Sylla was a constant presence. He played 114 matches for the team. He also scored ten goals and provided ten assists during his time there. These numbers show his impact on the field.
