More than 500 participants in the 4th edition of Catalunya Bike Race

Starting this coming Friday, Puigcerdà will once again experience cycling first hand, with the fourth edition of the Catalunya Bike Race that will bring together more than 500 participants. An edition that will begin on Friday from 9:00 a.m. with the collection of numbers and that at noon (2:00 p.m.), the starting signal will be given to the first stage, with 45 kilometers and 1,320 meters of unevenness.

A route that “has been renewed in 80% of its totality”, according to Jose Antonio Hermida, ambassador and in charge of their design. Three stages where 172 kilometers will be disputed with 5,564 meters of accumulated unevenness, so it will be an edition that will exceed both in mileage and in meters of unevenness the previous editions with the incorporation of unpublished and newly created trails. The north and south face of the La Cerdanya valley will be traveled through the municipalities of Puigcerdà, Guils de Cerdanya, Bolvir, Meranges, La Molina and Alp.

A 45-kilometer first stage that will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, which will be a fast stage marked by a long 10-kilometer step ascent. A short and fast stage where three quarters will be of a fluid, rolling and wide trail.

The second stage, the Nissan Super Stage, will be the longest and most demanding of the competition with 58 km and 2,000 meters of unevenness, which will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 2. at the Puigcerdà Sports Center again. This stage will be tough and demanding with an exit by direct track towards Guils Fontanera and the Refugi de la Feixa and reaching the highest point at more than 2,200 meters of altitude. The second part of the stage will be of constant ups and downs, very fun. A stage where enjoyment is guaranteed. It will be a long, hard, exciting, intense stage with demanding trails as it will force us to push ourselves to the limit because of how much fun they are. In short, a marathon stage that will live up to its name in all the senses and aspects that Mountain Bike can offer.

The third and last stage will have 68 km and 2,242 meters of unevenness where it will cross the south face of the Valley and will allow us to leave Puigcerdà towards La Molina passing through Vilallobent, with a first part of the rolling stage on a fast track with very little unevenness. From the second part of the stage, we will pass through the mythical path ‘732’ with a surprise halfway through the path, followed by unpublished sections.

A Catalunya Bike Race that ensures fun, technical and new sections of Puro Mountain Bike through the majestic landscapes of La Cerdanya, with a route designed and tested by the race ambassador José Antonio Hermida. In this edition, security measures will be very present, therefore all participants must pass the negative antigen test, to be able to face the first exit of the competition.
