More than 400 athletes in the Cycling Grand Prix dedicated to Carolina Mejía

With the participation of more than 400 national and foreign cyclists, the fourth edition of the 2022 Cycling Grand Prix will be held, an event to be held on February 20 of this year, starting at 8 in the morning, dedicated to Mayor Carolina Mejía.
350 Dominican cyclists and 13 international teams will race in the event, informed the tournament director, Emilio Valdez (El Caballito), at a press conference held this Wednesday in the VIP room of the Dominican Cycling Federation (Fedoci).
The fair will be held on the V Centenario expressway under a closed circuit, added Valdez.
For her part, Natacha Peña, president of the Organizing Committee, announced that the event will be broadcast by Canal Colimdo TV and Tigres del Licey.
Peña announced that athletes from the Elite, Juvenile, Junior, Master A, B and C categories will run; in addition to the Feminine and Recreational.
For his part, Mr. Iván Gómez, who represented the mayor, thanked Valdez for dedicating the event to Mejía.
"Proud and honored of the dedication to Mrs. Carolina Mejía of the event, which will have top-notch security, 20 agents will monitor the tournament, in addition to motorized patrols"said Gómez, colonel and director of the Community Police.
While Jorge Blas Díaz, president of Fedoci, stated that the event will be a preview of the Vuelta Ciclística Independencia.
"It is a great event, well planned by the Cycling Association of the National District that president Emilio Valdez, which heats the track of the Vuelta Independencia. The tournament will give 129,000 pesos in cash and some cyclists from various countries will participate in search of gaining experience before the Vuelta"Diaz maintained.
Among the international teams registered are Costa Rica, Bermuda, Puerto Rico, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Venezuela, Colombia and several teams from New York.
The Cycling Grand Prix is ​​endorsed by the National District Cycling Association and the Fedoci.
The event will be supervised by the Dominican College of Commissioners.

The activity was also attended by the secretary of Fedoci, Rafael Tejada, and Paola Ramírez, from Petromovil, who stated that this company will continue to support the sport.
