More than 1 million tourists visited the DR in March, reports the Ministry

During the month of March, 1,020,571 tourists visited the Dominican Republic, setting a historical record as the “best month of March for tourism”, as reported today by the Ministry of Tourism.

According to the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, in March the record for aerial visits to the country was broken with the entry of 740,324 travelers, exceeding by 10% the same month, but in 2019, and by 20% last year. , to which is also added the arrival of 280,247 cruise passengers, a higher figure than that of the same month last year.

"If we add the 740,324 tourists who arrived by air and the 280,247 cruise passengers, We are talking about that during the month of March we received 1,020,571 visitors, something never seen in a month, in the history of tourism"highlighted Collado.

Similarly, the minister referred to the first quarter of this year as a record for the reception of foreigners and ethnics with 2,076,171.

“With this figure we even break our own records, since we surpassed 2019 by 1%, 2021 by 19% and 2022 by 21%."alleged during the presentation of the monthly presentation of data corresponding to the tourist behavior offered by the mayor’s office.

David Collado indicated that the projection is that by the end of the year the country will have received 7.8 million tourists, only by air, mostly from Canada, Colombia and France.
