Morata is still Mourinho’s dream

Roma are looking for a center forward and it seems that coach José Mourinho’s favorite is Álvaro Morata. However, although the interest is evident, the signing of the Spaniard is considered “very complicated” in the Italian capital. Sporting director Tiago Pinto is evaluating a long list of candidates, headed by Gianluca Scamacca, who is hoping to get the go-ahead from West Ham for a loan-purchase option.

Morata, who had a successful experience at Juventus, is Mourinho’s favorite due to his international experience, his ability to attack spaces, his constant movement and his eye for goals. Although Roma consider it difficult to bring the Spanish front, Mourinho has not lost hope and is waiting for news. However, for his arrival to be possible, according to the newspaper ACEa significant discount would be necessary both from Atlético de Madrid and from the player himself in terms of his salary.

There is also competition

In addition to financial difficulties, Roma also face competition from Milan, who are also looking for a center forward and are taking steps to bring Morata back to Serie A. It is clear that Mourinho’s objective is to strengthen his team in that position, since the lack of goals was an obvious problem last season, with just eight goals scored by Tammy Abraham and none by Andrea Belotti.

The challenge to sign Morata joins a list that includes other players such as Folarin Balogun, Mehdi Taremi and Youssef En Nesyri. Mourinho is looking to secure an important reinforcement up front before he starts next season, aware of the need to increase his team’s goalscoring ability.
