Morata, in the fridge

The exit of Álvaro Morata castles. The footballer, whose intention was even to have resolved his future before Atlético began the preseason and the week-long stay in Los Angeles de San Rafael, Segovia, continues at Atlético despite multiple calls from Italy and Arabia to take him away. But, due to an economic issue, the former, and a family one, the latter, the forward continues without moving. And the days go by and nothing changes.

Morata’s desire only orbits around two destinations, Italy or Madridand for a matter of roots, not move your family, schools… From Arabia the interest is very high, even implicating Saudi government officials who insistently call the rojiblanco. But, for now, neither with more money (a salary of 70 million) nor the promise of better living conditions for the footballer and his family have they managed to click on his head, push him to the final yes. Italy, meanwhile, has easily convinced him.

Both Roma, Juve, Milan and Inter have tried to sign him in recent weeks, colliding these with another problem, the economic one and the claims of the rojiblanco club, with whom he has a contract until 2026, to let him leave. Juanma López, the player’s agent, traveled to the country this week to try to close agreements with the most interested clubs in recent times, Roma and Inter, meeting with the directives of both and with that of Juve together with the intermediary Beppe Bozzo. The Milanese are the ones who economically have the most muscle to undertake the operation, but without reaching the mark by Atlético: they are planted in an amount of about 15 million variables included, six below the 21 set by the rojiblancos. Roma, meanwhile, continues to lurk, but without being able to accelerate. Mourinho, who considers him an absolute priority, and Dybala have convinced the Spaniard, but the club would need to carry out the operation with a loan with a purchase option (even mandatory). The Giallorossi, due to their agreement with UEFA for Financial Fair Play, this summer must avoid expenses. It is the same formula that Tiago Pinto is using to negotiate with West Ham for Gianluca Scamacca, with whom there is already an agreement in principle.

Something very similar happens at Inter: Inzaghi, like Mourinho, prefers that the incorporation of Morata be closed as soon as possiblebut the Nerazzurri board remains firm in its offer of 15 million and, Meanwhile, he is negotiating for a younger profile, Folarin Balogun from Arsenal. Without agreements, with the Italians who have put him in the fridge or are already focused on other objectives (Milan has announced Okafor, and Juve these days is accelerating for Lukaku) Morata continues without a clear future or, with each tick-tock, closer to having to stay in Cholo’s team.
