MoraBanc Andorra Signs Nikolas Chougkaz to One-Season Contract

Nikolaos ‘Nikos’ Chougkaz, a 2.08m Greek power forward born in Athens in 1999, has signed a one-season contract with MoraBanc Andorra.

About the New Signee

Chougkaz has played in various teams in Greece, including Peristeri, Ionikos Nikaias, and Panathinaikos. He has also had experience playing in the NCAA at Northwestern State University of Louisiana. His previous stint with Peristeri came after being loaned back to Ionikos Nikaias, and before joining Panathinaikos on a loan deal due to Papapetrou’s injury. Chougkaz has also represented Greece internationally since making his debut for the senior team in 2021.

Evaluation from Sports Director

Francesc Solana, MoraBanc Andorra’s sports director, commented on Chougkaz’s arrival: "He fits the profile of the player we wanted for this position very well. He has a good three-point shot, the ability to play from the outside in, is athletic, a good rebounder and fits the competitive profile of the competitions we will be playing in."

Team Roster Updates

Chougkaz joins the likes of ‘Chumi’ Ortega (Zunder Palencia), Shannon Evans II (Joventut Badalona), Ben Lammers, and Ferran Bassas (Dreamland Gran Canaria) as part of MoraBanc’s growing roster for the upcoming season. "Chougkaz is a young player with a future and his ambition and hunger will help us improve as a team," added Solana.
