Montblanc is a brand known for its fine pens and leather goods. It’s surprising to see them step into the world of tech gadgets. Their new release, the Montblanc Digital Paper, is a tablet made for writing. It uses a black and white E-ink screen, much like an e-reader. The pen you use with it takes its design cues from Montblanc’s classic Meisterstück pen.
This device lets you do more than just scribble notes. You can draw pictures or write directly into e-books saved as epub or PDF files. The Digital Paper is quite light, made mostly from aluminum. It has a 3740 mAh battery inside. However, Montblanc hasn’t shared how long the battery lasts on a full charge.
The tablet also has a smart design feature. A leather-covered magnetic strip runs along its side. This strip holds the stylus firmly in place. It even charges the pen wirelessly. The screen offers a very sensitive writing experience, responding to over 4,000 levels of pressure. This means your digital strokes can look very much like real ink.
The Montblanc Digital Paper isn’t built for raw power or top-tier performance. Instead, it focuses on offering a “luxurious experience.” The main goal is to make writing on a screen feel as real as writing on paper. You can even change the edges of the display to mimic different paper textures.
This digital notepad comes with a price tag of $905.
