Monkeypox Virus: The monkeypox virus, which wreaked havoc in Africa, is now spreading rapidly all over the world. A surprising news has come that not only its cases are increasing, but now people are also dying. Another person died of monkeypox in Spain on Saturday. This is the second case of monkeypox death in the last two days. The Health Ministry said that both of those who lost their lives due to infection were youths. The first case of death due to this virus was reported on Friday. On Friday, the first death due to monkeypox was also reported in Brazil. Since May, more than 22,000 cases of monkeypox have been reported in 80 countries around the world. 75 people have died due to this virus in Africa. Most of the patients have lost their lives in Nigeria and Congo.

Monkeypox was declared a ‘global health emergency’ by the World Health Organization (WHO) a week before the deaths were reported outside Africa. Spain’s Health Ministry said on Friday that 4,298 people have been infected with the virus in the country so far, of whom about 3,500 are men who have had sex with other men. Only 64 of the infected are women. According to the ministry, 120 people infected with monkeypox have been admitted to the hospital so far. Cases of this virus are also increasing in India. Amidst increasing cases, UK scientists have identified another painful symptom of this virus. According to the data, 2469 cases of monkeypox have been reported in the UK till 28 July. Now this disease has become a matter of concern because it has started killing people.

Pain and swelling in private parts

The British Medical Journal has claimed in a new study that people who are vulnerable to the virus are not showing normal symptoms. Patients are showing new symptoms. There is pain and swelling in his private parts. These symptoms were not visible in previous cases of the virus, when cases were reported in Central and West Africa. The study authors said the new finding suggests community transmission of monkeypox has begun among gay, bisexual and other men who have had physical relations with men from countries affected by the virus. At present, Europe is witnessing the most havoc of the monkeypox virus.

The first death from monkeypox has also been recorded in South America. On Friday, the Ministry of Health informed about the death of a person from Brazil due to infection. The 41-year-old man was admitted to the hospital on Thursday. His name has not been disclosed by the health ministry. Little is known about how he got monkeypox and how long he was infected. According to the WHO, a total of 22,124 cases of the virus have been reported till Friday. Of these, 70 percent of cases have been found in Europe and 25 percent in America.

The first case was reported in Congo

The first case of monkeypox in a child was reported in 1970 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (then Zaire). Since then, outbreaks have been generally infrequent and detectable, with the current outbreak being unlike any previous outbreak outside Africa, with continuous person-to-person transmission of infection. As of 22 July, there have been 16,593 confirmed cases in 68 countries that had never previously been known to have monkeypox. The highest number of infection cases have been reported from Europe. Most infections have occurred in men who have sex with men. Especially men who have sex with multiple people.
