‘Money for petrol is gone, IMF is last hope’

Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil W. Karma Singh has said that the IMF is the last hope for running out of money for petrol.

Earlier this week, authorities announced a holiday on Friday to store fuel, but long queues were seen outside petrol pumps on Friday.

Drivers said they had been waiting several days to refuel their tanks.

The Sri Lankan government has decided to work four days a week to overcome the worst economic crisis. According to a foreign news agency, government employees assigned to work four days a week in Sri Lanka will work four days a week for three months.
