Mondo Duplantis is on fire. The 25-year-old just won his third straight indoor world title in the pole vault. He cleared 6.15m to take gold.
The competition was fierce
Emmanouil Karalis from Greece gave him a run for his money. Karalis even set a new national record with a 6.05m jump. But Duplantis was unstoppable. He sailed over 6.10m on his second attempt – his 100th career jump over six meters. Karalis couldn’t keep up.
Duplantis’ impressive record
This win adds to Duplantis’ impressive collection of medals. He’s got two Olympic golds, two outdoor world championships, and now three indoor world titles. He’s also a three-time European champion. Oh, and he’s broken his own world record 11 times. The current record stands at 6.27m.

The road to victory
The American Sam Kendricks took bronze with a 5.90m jump. The competition was held in Nanjing, five years later than initially planned due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The next edition will be in Torun, Poland in 2026.
