Mohammad Siraj Shines After RCB Exit, Takes Wickets in IPL 2025

The Indian Premier League has a way of changing a player’s career overnight. For Mohammad Siraj, that change might be happening right now. After seven seasons with Royal Challengers Bangalore, Siraj was bought by Gujarat Titans for 12.25 crore rupees in the IPL 2025 mega auction. And it looks like the move is paying off.

At first, things didn’t go so well for Siraj. In his first match against Punjab Kings, he gave up 54 runs in just 4 overs. But in his last two matches, he’s been on fire. Against Mumbai Indians, he took 2 wickets and against his old team, he got 3. That’s 5 wickets in his last two matches.

Siraj is now in the running for the Purple Cap in IPL 2025. What’s interesting is that he’s getting his wickets in a very specific way – by bowling straight and getting batsmen out clean bowled. In fact, 4 out of the 5 batsmen he’s gotten out this season have been bowled.

Looking at Siraj’s IPL career, he’s played 96 matches and taken 98 wickets. If he gets 2 more wickets in his next match, he’ll join a pretty exclusive group of players who have taken 100 wickets in the IPL. He’ll be the 26th player to do it. It’s a big milestone, and Siraj is just a couple of wickets away from achieving it.
