Mohammad Siraj’s stellar bowling helped Gujarat Titans defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets. Chasing the target, Shubman Gill scored an unbeaten 61. Earlier, Siraj’s impressive bowling restricted Hyderabad to 152 runs, with him taking 4 wickets, including those of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. He was named Player of the Match for his performance.
After receiving the award, Siraj shared that being left out of the Indian team had been tough for him to accept. However, playing on his home ground in Hyderabad was a great experience, and having his family watch him play boosted his confidence. He noted that his time with RCB had been a rollercoaster ride, but he had worked on his bowling, fielding, and mindset, which was now paying off.
Siraj had been part of the non-traveling reserve players for the Champions Trophy and had also been released by RCB, his former IPL team. Despite these challenges, he had focused on his fitness and mindset during the break. He emphasized that his goal was to be ready for the IPL and enjoy his bowling. With 9 wickets in 4 matches, including 4 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Siraj is now in the running for the Purple Cap.
