Mohammad Hafeez retires from international cricket
Pakistani off-roader veteran Mohammad Hafeez has retired from international cricket. Hafeez has played international cricket for Pakistan for 18 years and has also been captain of the Pakistan team in all formats.
The 41-year-old high-level hitter has signed with Lahore Qalandars for the upcoming Pakistani Super League season. In addition, they will also be available to cricket franchises around the world. Hafeez retired from test cricket in 2018. He is now retiring from international cricket after playing cricket for nearly two decades. He has played 392 internationals for Pakistan in which he has scored 12,789 runs and taken 253 wickets.
He has played 55 tests, 218 ODIs and 119 T20 matches. He has also played three ODI World Cups and six T20 World Cups. Hafeez made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in 2003. He played his last international match in the T20 World Cup semi-final against Australia in November last year.
In his illustrious cricket career, he has become man of the match 32 times. Apart from this, he has also won the Series Player title nine times. He had previously said that the 2020 T20 World Cup will be his last tournament with Pakistan, but since the tournament was played in 2021, he has now withdrawn.
Mohammad Hafeez said: “Today I say goodbye to international cricket with pride and satisfaction. In fact, I have won much more than I initially thought and for this, I thank all my cricket partners, captains, support staff and thanks to Pakistan Cricket Board that helped me throughout my career. “

Hafeez further said: “I am extremely fortunate and proud to have been deemed eligible to play for Pakistan for 18 years.”
