MLC 2025: Finn Allen Scores Fastest Century

The crowd went wild as 26-year-old Finn Allen took the field for the San Francisco Unicorns in the inaugural match of Major League Cricket 2025. Allen’s explosive batting style left everyone in awe, and he made history by scoring a century in just 34 balls. This outdid the records of power-hitters like Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Nicholas Pooran.

Allen’s incredible 151-run innings, which included 19 sixes and 5 fours, left the Washington Freedom reeling. His strike rate of 296.08 was jaw-dropping. Not only did he break Suryavanshi’s record of 35 balls for a century, but he also surpassed Pooran’s 40-ball century record in the 2023 MLC final. Allen even took down Chris Gayle’s record for most sixes in a T20 innings, with 18 sixes being the previous benchmark.

The San Francisco Unicorns set a massive target of 269 runs for 5 wickets, thanks to Allen’s rampage. Teammate Sanjay Krishnamurthy, of Indian descent, chipped in with 36 runs in 20 balls and smashed four consecutive sixes in an over to support Allen’s attack. The Washington Freedom, on the other hand, crumbled while chasing the target, getting bowled out for 146 runs in just 13.1 overs. They lost by 123 runs, with Rachin Ravindra top-scoring for the team with 42 runs in 17 balls, followed by Mitchell Owen’s 39 runs.
