Mithun-Usha Uthup gets Padma Bhushan

Two popular Bengali and Bollywood stars, Mithun Chakraborty and Usha Uthup, will be awarded Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian award. The central government of India on Thursday announced the names of the recipients of this year's Padma award. Former Union minister and BJP leader Satyavarta Mukhopadhyay was awarded the Padma Bhushan posthumously.

Mithun Chakraborty is one of the best stars in Bengali and Indian cinema. He acted in both Bengali and Hindi languages. This actor has also won the National Award. Musician Usha Uthup was nominated for the Padma Award along with Mithun.
