Miss Universe Executive Sued for “Dumb Head” Insult to Miss Mexico

Legal action has been confirmed against Nawat Itsaragrisil, CEO of Miss Grand International. This follows a heated exchange with Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch, during a Miss Universe event. Itsaragrisil reportedly called the 25-year-old model a “dumb head.”

The lawsuit was confirmed by Raúl Rocha Cantú, co-owner and president of the Miss Universe Organization (MUO). This confirmation came in statements to media outlets. Itsaragrisil’s tearful apologies are considered insufficient by top MUO executives.

Rocha told Tony Star TV that he has commissioned MUO CEO Mario Búcaro to oversee the legal process. Búcaro will hold meetings in Thailand and coordinate with local lawyers.

The verbal dispute occurred on November 3 during a band delivery ceremony. Itsaragrisil allegedly criticized Bosch for not posting about host country Thailand on social media. Despite Bosch’s clarification, Itsaragrisil stated, “If you follow your national director’s orders, you are a dumb head.”

The international Miss Universe organization condemned the episode as “unacceptable.” They reaffirmed their commitment to prioritizing respect, inclusion, and safety for all contestants. Fátima Bosch received support from fellow contestants, current Miss Universe Victoria Kjær, and notable figures including Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum.

Raúl Rocha emphasized that Itsaragrisil’s behavior “must be reported and spoken out against.” Lawyers for Miss Universe Mexico will also participate in the legal process. They are citing alleged aggression and discrimination.

Itsaragrisil has not yet commented on the lawsuit. However, according to USA Today, he previously stated he is human and has the right to make mistakes.

“I want to take this opportunity to say something about what has happened. Because I am human,” Itsaragrisil commented. He added, “I believe you must understand that the pressure is great, I am human sometimes. I cannot control it. By the way, I have not intended to hurt anyone.”

He also sought forgiveness from Miss Universe followers and those who observed the situation via social media videos.

Vanessa Ferbal, Fátima Bosch’s mother, publicly expressed pride in her daughter’s dignified response. She praised Bosch for handling the situation “without violence and with dignity” on Instagram.

“Today I understood that my daughter already knows how to protect herself, and that fills me with pride,” Ferbal wrote. “Because there is nothing more powerful than a woman who respects herself, sets boundaries, and does not allow anyone to make her doubt her worth or feel less.”

Ferbal concluded, “Today I not only applaud her, I admire her. Because my daughter did not allow herself to be humiliated… and that makes her great. She is my daughter, and she is a GREAT WOMAN. I adore you, Fátima de la Luz.”

Bosch experienced another uncomfortable moment, unrelated to Itsaragrisil, during her time in Thailand. Social media users highlighted an incident with Kathy Labz, a Thai beauty brand.

Infobae reported that Bosch was ignored for five minutes during a Q&A session. She was not given a microphone or asked any questions.

The brand later released a video prominently featuring Bosch. In it, she expressed enjoyment of a Thai fruit cocktail. “It’s amazing, it’s my second one already, I simply loved it and I need to take this to Mexico,” Bosch said in the video.
