Mirabal is awarded Narrator of the Year by the Latin Awards

Sports journalist Franklin Mirabal declared himself "A man blessed by God" at the time of receiving the award "Latino Sportscaster of the Year" which awards the International Latino Sports Awards of New York City.

"It is always in my mind when I was a shoe shiner and sold newspapers on the streets of Santo Domingo, I dreamed of being a sports journalist, I worked for it and I achieved it. Now it is a pride and honor to be rewarded for my work"; Mirabal said excitedly.

In an act held at Sophia’s Restaurant, Mirabal received massive support from many of the people who appreciate him.

The Latino Sports Awards were represented by its president Félix Jerez, sports editor Billy Berroa Jr, Elida Almonte, president of the United States Chamber of Commerce and Eduardo Luna, film producer for Netflix and HBO.

"I want to dedicate this award, mainly, to the children and women who are the most enthusiastic followers of my phrases and narration with the Tigres del Licey"; Mirabal said.

He called on his fellow narrators (from all the teams) to warm up the children, to take pictures with them, greet them, share with them, because they are present and future baseball fans.

Mirabal, accompanied by his wife Penny Báez, said that: "Each award has a special flavor, this one makes me very happy because it comes from abroad, which indicates that the impact of my storytelling is felt in the DR and in the United States".

“The selection of Franklin Mirabal, as Latino Narrator of the Year, has been by unanimous decision,” commented Félix Jerez, who highlighted the professional qualities of the seasoned baseball narrator for the blue network.
