This weekend, the Ministry of Youth held the Entrepreneurship and Youth Fair 2022 in the municipality of Santo Domingo Este with the participation of 110 entrepreneurs, mostly women.
Among the commercial items that stood out at the fair are crafts, manufacturing, green entrepreneurship, hair and skin products, foodclothing rental and even small crops.
“We couldn’t wait any longer, it’s a dream come true to bring you our Entrepreneurship and Youth Fair 2022. We have spent months working and organizing with determination what they observe here today. It has been a task in which we have invested our whole hearts and with a specific purpose: to promote the well-being and success of Dominican youth…”, said Rafael Feliz García, Minister of Youth.
Throughout the activity, Opening was provided to youth banking credit as an injection to entrepreneurial projects, as well as assistance to young people in their initiatives.
The fair also had a segment dedicated to young people from the area who were fans of urban music under the motto “My neighborhood has suchnto”, which has the objective of promoting a battle of improvisations with clean lyrics, whose winner is chosen through the vote of the attendees.
It also had the participation of local artists such as Karen Montero, Riccie Oriach, Exodo Lirical, Freaky Philip, Emmanuel and Scarlett.
According to a press release issued by the entity, since the beginning of the project, the Ministry of Youth has impacted more than 10 thousand young people between 15 and 35 years old and more than 4 thousand families.
“These activities are carried out throughout the country with the aim of placing in one place a broad ecosystem of opportunities for young creators and developers of impact projects for the microenterprise sector and new business ideas,” the document dictated.
The event was held at the Eugenio María de Hostos Club in the Housing sector, on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 November.
It was attended by the Mayor of Santo Domingo Este, Manuel Jiménez; the director of Progresando con Solidaridad, Gloria Reyes; the senator of the Santo Domingo province, Antonio Taveras; representatives Bertico Santana and Juan José Rojas, among other municipal authorities.
