Minister of Finance swears in the new head of Digecog

The Minister of Finance, José Manuel (Jochy) Vicente, swore in yesterday the new head of the General Directorate of Government Accounting (Digecog), Rómulo V. Francisco Arias Moscat, in compliance with decree 15-23, issued by the head of State Luis Abinader, replacing Félix Santana García, now Comptroller General of the Republic.

“The appointment of Rómulo Arias as general director of Digecog is one more step in this trajectory towards transparency,” said the finance minister, while expressing his total satisfaction with the management of Félix Santana, which lasted two years old

Santana García expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic and the incumbent of the Treasury for the support he received during his duties.

He added, in addition, that “it has been a wonderful experience that has allowed me to offer a service to the Dominican people, for which reason today we hand over the fully reorganized institution with great satisfaction to the new director, who has had a very serious professional career, honest and I am certain that he will work to make the institution much more solid”.

After swearing in, the new general director of Digecog, Arias Moscat, thanked President Abinader for his appointment, while expressing his gratitude to the Minister of Finance and Félix Santana for “behaving like a receptive brother towards us, open to all manifestations so that we receive a clean institution and adhered to ethical principles”.

Arias Moscat promised to follow the trajectory of Santana García and honor the name of President Abinader.

The inauguration took place in the office of the CEO of Digecog, in the presence of personalities and friends, among them Pedro Figueroa, administrative and financial manager of the General Directorate of Internal Taxes and Luis Guillermo Vásquez, president of the Front of Accountants Public of the Modern Revolutionary Party.

New CEO of Digecog

Rómulo V. Francisco Arias Moscat, a native of Baní, has a degree in Accounting, graduated in 1982 from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) and has a specialization in tax auditing and balance sheet auditing.
