Minister Camacho assures that the Dominican bowling alley has an assured future

Sports Minister Francisco Camacho said that the future of Dominican bowling is assured by the quality demonstrated by the youth, with the successes obtained in national and international bowling events that have been held at the Sebelén Bowling Center.

“I want to express to you youth players that you will represent us in the Central American and Pan American Games and invitations, since your progress on the courts of these modern facilities is notorious,” said Camacho.

The sports minister was in charge of the central words at the start of the Central American and Caribbean Youth Bowling Championship and Youth Bowling Festival, at the SBC facilities, with the participation of 110 players, representing eight nations.

Camacho was satisfied with the celebration of the fair in the SBC, with the joy of the youth who seek to place themselves in the medal places.

He recalled that during the pandemic he told President Luis Abinader that sports and tourism were going to start activities in the country.

“President Abinader has shown his joy, for sports and tourism, to open the country to the world,” he said.

For his part, the immortal of Sports Rolando Sebelén, thanked Camacho for his positive words in favor of bowling and recalled that the Dominican quartet won the gold medal in the bowling world cup in Panama.

Martín Faba and Gustavo López, international leaders of the bowling alley, also spoke, congratulating the country for celebrating the fair.

At the ceremony, those present were addressed by Antonio Acosta, president of the Dominican Olympic Committee, and Francis Soto, president of the Dominican Bowling Federation.

Players from Aruba, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and the DR participate in individual, doubles and teams in the male and female branches, in sub 16 and sub 21.

The Dominican teams will be made up in the sub 16 category by athletes Layla Dhawahra, Paula Morín, Manuel Ortega and Alan Núñez and the second by Crystal Rivas, Chantel Sánchez, Patrick Ng and Miguel Concepción.

While in the Under 21 category in the female branch it will be made up of Ana and Alicia Soto, Letizia Santos, Viviana Luna, María Laura and Avril Mejía, Rosalía Guzmán and María Paula Hernandez and in the male category Roberto Morín, Martin Arbaje, Gabriel Ureña, Sebastián Deschamps, Guillermo Abreu, Juan Vargas, Bryan Ricardo and Luis Mckinney.
