“Mini PacMan” Rosa seeks this Tuesday crown against Filipino “Vic”

The Dominican Erick “Mini PacMan” Rosa will try to become the new minimum champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), for which he will have to beat the Philippine champion Victorio “Vic” Saludar, whom he will face this Tuesday night at the luxurious Hotel Catalonia in Santo Domingo.

“Mini PacMan” Rosa and “Vic” Saludar passed the first test after making the regulation weight, 105 pounds, at the weigh-in ceremony, held this Monday at the same Catalonia hotel.

“This will be a champion versus champion fight,” said the Dominican boxer, referring to the fact that he holds two Latin titles, endorsed by the WBA and the World Boxing Council (WBC).

It is also recalled that in July of this year, the “Mini PacMan” was awarded the WBA world title, after beating the Peruvian Ricardo Astuvilca in the Volleyball Pavilion of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, but shortly after the organism World Cup eliminated its interim girdles.

“I have prepared very well, I have complied one hundred percent with a preparation plan that we drew up and I am ready to give that crown to my Dominican Republic,” added the native fighter from Villa Duarte.

“Mini PacMan” Rosa, after winning the interim world title, became the first boxer in America and fourth in the world championship to achieve a world championship with fewer than five professional fights.

“This Tuesday I will make history because with less than five fights I will have won two world titles,” added the Dominican. “I reiterate to my country that this strip remains here,” he added.

His fight against “Vic” Saludar will be the star of a card to be held this Tuesday at the Catalonia hotel, organized by the Dominican promoter Shuan Boxing, chaired by Belgium Peña. The lawsuit will be broadcast on national television by CDN Sports, channel 28. Also for the world by different digital platforms.

“Vic” Say Hello

On his side, “Vic” Saludar, regular WBA minimumweight champion, insisted that he has not come to the Dominican Republic on vacation, but to defeat the Dominican Erick Rosa and return to his country with the title he holds.

“We are ready to give the great battle, recognize the quality of Erick Rosa, but do not get excited about the title, because he will return to the Philippines,” he said.

“Mini PacMan” Rosa is undefeated, at 4-0. All of his fights have been ten rounds, unusual for a boxer starting his professional career and his victims have been Oscar Bermúdez, from Mexico; Byron Castellón, from Nicaragua; Kenny Cano, from Nicaragua and Astuvilca, from Peru.

“My next victim will be a Filipino,” he said.
