Microsoft has announced that the cult game Minecraft will be included in the PC version of Xbox Game Pass starting next month. The two editions, Bedrock and Java, can then be launched for free by subscribers. The console version is already included in Game Pass on Xbox.
For the first time, PC gamers will be able to play Minecraft with their friends on console with the Xbox Game Pass membership. The Java and Bedrock versions of Minecraft will be added from November 2 to Game Pass for PC, which will allow cross-play play ” with any current version including consoles and mobiles “.
For those who don’t know, the Java version was the original version and is more suitable for receiving mods, while the Bedrock version is the only one compatible with cross-play. So this is the one you will need to use if you want to play Minecraft with your friends who are on console. However, it seems that cross-play between the Java version and the Bedrock version is not possible at this point.

Minecraft will receive a major update for the occasion
Announced during the Minecraft Live event which took place this weekend, the Minecraft PC Bundle which includes both games also brings changes for those who are not subscribed to the Game Pass. Indeed, players running Windows 11 and Windows 10 can now switch between editions via Minecraft’s unified launcher.
Mojang also announced that Minecraft will receive the next major update, Caves & Cliffs: Part II, later this year. This one should massively reshuffle the world’s generation and improve build height to allow even more freedom. As the name suggests, the first part of the update had arrived a few months ago, and this new version should bring even more changes to the level of the caves and their depth.
Waiting for the arrival of Minecraft on Xbox Game Pass for PC on November 2, Minecraft Dungeons, a spin-off of the series, is already available on Xbox Game Pass on console.
