Millie Bobby Brown has publicly addressed past allegations of abusive behavior against her “Stranger Things” co-star, David Harbour. The actress clarified her relationship with Harbour ahead of the final season’s release.
Social media and international reports had previously claimed Brown accused Harbour of mistreatment and pressure on set. However, the two appeared together and smiling at the ‘Stranger Things 5’ World Premiere in Los Angeles on November 6. This public appearance helped counter the circulating rumors.
A tabloid report had earlier claimed Brown filed a complaint against Harbour before filming for Season 5 began. Netflix offered no comment on these allegations. Reports indicated an investigation lasting several months, during which Brown allegedly had a representative on set.
When asked why she stood in solidarity with Harbour amidst the rumors, Brown stated their relationship has always been strong. “We’ve been doing this for ten years,” she said. “We love this show with all our hearts and put our friendship above all else.”
Brown and Harbour’s characters, Eleven and Hopper, will also share the screen extensively in the upcoming season. The two were largely separated during the fourth season. Their reunion is a central plot point for the fifth and final chapter.
Brown described working with Harbour again as a pleasant experience that felt like returning to old times. “Hopper and Eleven’s chemistry has always been a fan favorite,” she explained. She added that working together again felt like returning to seasons two and three, when their characters had both conflict and familiarity.
Brown believes audiences will greatly enjoy seeing their characters reunited. Her statement largely dismisses ongoing rumors about their relationship.
Show creators the Duffer Brothers declined to comment on the allegations at the premiere. They emphasized that safety and respect are paramount on set. Director and producer Shawn Levy also stated the team functions like a family and strives for a safe environment.
