Military detains seven people for drug trafficking in Venezuela

The Venezuelan military captured seven people in the last few hours for drug trafficking in three states of the country, two of them bordering Colombia, reported this Saturday the operational strategic commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Domingo Hernández Lárez.

According to the information published by the official on his Twitter account, five citizens were captured in the island state of Nueva Esparta, whom they detained with four panels of marijuana.

Another of the detainees was apprehended in the state of Táchira (west), when he tried to cross the national territory in an express transport from Colombia to Caracas, with more than 50 cocaine cocaine cods.

Hernández Lárez assured that this subject was "captured by tancol groups"an acronym invented by the Venezuelan government that does not refer to any specific band and that means "armed terrorists Colombian drug traffickers".

Likewise, a Colombian citizen was arrested in Zulia state from whom more than a kilogram of cocaine was seized.

Earlier, the national anti-drug superintendent, Richard López Vargas, reported that the Venezuelan authorities arrested a total of 8,830 people so far this year for drug trafficking.

The official stated, on the state channel Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), that these arrests took place throughout the territory and that they respond to 7,113 procedures carried out by the authorities from January to date to combat the internal trafficking of illegal substances.
