A militant group has attacked a prison in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, forcing 1,000 prisoners to escape.
According to a report by a foreign news agency, the Nigerian Interior Ministry says that there were one thousand prisoners in the prison at the time of the attack of the suspected extremist organization Boko Haram.
He said that almost all the prisoners had initially escaped after the attack but 443 prisoners have been recaptured since then.
The Interior Ministry says 400 prisoners are still at large and are being searched by security forces.
It should be noted that more than 5,000 prisoners have escaped from prisons in Nigeria since 2000.
It may be recalled that even before this, people have been abducted by the extremist organization by attacking trains and other places.
