Miley Cyrus’s engagement ring to Maxx Morando has drawn significant attention for its distinct design and substantial estimated value. Daniela Tarantino, Vice President of Merchandising at Blue Nile, described the ring to Us Weekly on Tuesday, December 2. She noted it features a "thick gold ring with an east-west bezel setting." Tarantino called this design "a modern and chic trend" in the bridal industry.
Tarantino estimated the diamond to be a 4 to 5 carat modified cushion cut. She placed the ring’s value between $300,000 and $450,000.
Kristy Cullinane, a diamond jewelry expert and co-founder of Plum Diamonds, concurred with the 4 to 5 carat estimate. Cullinane provided a varied cost assessment. She suggested the ring could be valued at $200,000 or more for a mined diamond. If it is a lab-grown diamond, the estimated cost drops to $15,000.
Cyrus, 33, accessorized her look with additional Messika diamonds, including a pear-shaped and rectangular diamond ring on her index finger. She also wore a Messika diamond necklace and a double ring on her right hand. Her fiancé, Maxx Morando, is 27. The couple has been dating since December 2021.
This "east-west" setting trend extends beyond Cyrus, marking a notable shift in celebrity engagement ring styles. Zendaya debuted a similar unique ring from Tom Holland at the Golden Globes 2025 in January.
Zendaya’s ring, crafted by Jessica McCormack, features an east-west cushion-cut diamond. It is set in a bezel on a gold band.
Lauren Grunstein, Vice President of Verstelo Fine Jewelry, estimated Zendaya’s ring could cost up to $500,000. Parade reported that a natural, high-quality diamond from a traditional jeweler would range from $300,000 to $500,000. A lab-grown alternative would be approximately $20,000.
Dua Lipa also sports an engagement ring with a comparable style to Cyrus’s. Her custom piece from Callum Turner, whom she has dated since January 2024, features a 2-carat round diamond. This diamond is mounted on a thick gold band.
People estimates Lipa’s ring value between $65,000 and $270,000. Lipa, 30, confirmed her engagement to Turner, 35, in June 2025 during an interview with the British edition of Vogue. "Yes, we’re engaged," she stated. "It’s very exciting." She added, "I’m obsessed with it."
