Miley Cyrus Engaged: ‘Never Thought She’d Marry Again’ Before Maxx Morando

Miley Cyrus’s love story with Maxx Morando has surprised her in more ways than one.

A source exclusively shared with Us Weekly that Cyrus never believed she would marry again. Morando, however, changed everything for her. They maintain a very healthy and private relationship.

Us Weekly recently confirmed that the couple is engaged after four years of dating. A source close to the pair indicated the private proposal took place in early November.

Although the duo tried to keep the news quiet, fans spotted the "Party in the USA" singer wearing a gold and diamond ring. She displayed the jewelry on the red carpet of the Avatar: Fire And Ash premiere in Los Angeles on December 1.

A representative for jewelry designer Jacquie Aiche confirmed the ring’s details to Page Six. The piece Cyrus wore features a custom cushion-cut stone, set on a chunky 14-karat yellow gold band.

Long before her relationship with 27-year-old Morando, Cyrus was in an on-again, off-again relationship with Liam Hemsworth. Their decade-long romance culminated in a brief marriage.

The couple separated in August 2019 after less than eight months of marriage. Their divorce was finalized the following year.

"There was too much conflict," Cyrus told Howard Stern in December 2020 while reflecting on her marriage. "When I come home, I want someone to anchor me. I don’t get off on drama or fighting."

The Grammy winner added, "I really did and do love him very, very, very much, and still do, always will."

Cyrus previously dated Patrick Schwarzenegger and Cody Simpson. The former Hannah Montana star found something special with Morando after a blind date in summer 2021.

The duo has largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight. Cyrus recently joked about their nearly six-year age difference during an appearance on the "Sorry We’re Cyrus" podcast.

"He’ll be 27 when I turn 33, and I’m so excited about that because that was a big year for me," she said during a June episode. "I just hope that as long as he follows in my footsteps, everything will be alright. That’s when I started to change my life."

Cyrus also credits astrology for Morando being an ideal match. He is a Scorpio, a sign she finds compelling.

"Scorpios are very cool, they think they’re little angels, until all of a sudden they can sting," she explained. "I couldn’t be with someone that didn’t sting. I’d already be fried."

As Cyrus celebrates her new relationship status, she can recall some advice she received about love and marriage from her parents, Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus.

Before her parents went their separate ways in 2022 after 28 years of marriage, Miley remembered a life lesson that she said may never go out of style.

"Nothing and no one stays the same," she told Cosmopolitan in August 2017. "Grow, evolve, change together and celebrate the journey of your love!"
