Milan Confirms Departure of Sergio Conceicao as Coach

Sérgio Conceição’s time as Milan’s coach has come to an end. The Italian club shared a farewell message on social media, thanking him and his staff for their hard work and dedication.

The club won 16 games, drew 5, and lost 10 under Conceição. They also took home the Italian Super Cup.

Conceição took over in December 2024, replacing Paulo Fonseca. His team finished 8th in Serie A and didn’t make it to European competitions next season. They lost to Bologna in the Italian Cup final.

A New Coach Takes Over

Massimiliano Allegri is Milan’s new coach. He’s signed a 3-year deal, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, and will earn 5 million euros per year, plus bonuses. The official announcement is pending.

Allegri was available after leaving Juventus. He’s familiar with Milan, having worked there from 2010 to 2014. During his previous stint, he won the Italian championship in 2011 and the Italian Super Cup in 2012.

Milan’s new sports director, Igli Tare, wanted to resolve the coaching situation quickly. Allegri gave the green light, and the deal was done fast.

The club is looking to turn things around after a disappointing season. Allegri’s experience and knowledge of the team could be just what Milan needs to get back on track.
