Mike Tomlin: Kenny Pickett has improved

The Pittsburgh Steelers are at the bottom of the AFC North with a 3-7 mark after 11 weeks and the playoffs seem far from the team’s plans. Despite this, head coach Mike Tomlin sees good things in the team before the matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.

Winning hasn’t been a constant since Kenny Pickett is the starting quarterback, but the head coach believes the rookie has improved since he took over the offense. In a press conference, the head coach stated that the University of Pittsburgh graduate is moving in the right direction regarding his development.

“You know he’s getting better in a lot of areas, the same way George Pickens is doing,” Tomlin said. I’m not going to say this every week, but is moving in the direction we want. could it be faster? Absolutely”.

Pickett has participated in seven games, six as a starter, and accumulates 1,426 yards, three touchdown passes and eight interceptions after completing 155 of the 237 passes he has attempted. In addition, he has 20 sacks for a total of 131 negative yards.

The improvement that Tomlin talks about is that in the last two commitments the rookie has not committed turnovers. In addition, he averages 232 passing yards and a 59.72 passing success percentage.
