Miguel Rivera, coach of Tenerife Libby’s La Laguna

Coach Miguel Rivera, the men’s national coach, will also be in charge of directing the women’s Tenerife Libby’s La Laguna during the 2023/24 season. After passing through CV Teruel (where he won two Men’s Super Leagues, two Copas del Rey (2018/2020) and five Spanish Super Cups) he arrives in Tenerife to take charge of a Laguna squad that renews its enthusiasm for the next season. Rivera (Madrid, 1984), who will combine both positions, arrives on the island with extensive experience in elite volleyball and does so with the desire to take on new challenges. And it is that, in statements to the official media of the club, the coach acknowledges: “Keeping this team fighting at the top is one of the most exhilarating challenges I’ve ever been presented with.”

Along these lines, he assures that, facing the new course, he would like to create a group that generates enthusiasm in the fans and keeps expectations high. “The last few years have been very successful and we intend to stay on top fighting for the finals in a very even championship”, claims ambitious. In addition, the new blue and white coach knows the competition very well and knows that he will have to work on all aspects of the game based on sacrifice and effort.

“I think that the Iberdrola League has shown this season to be a very balanced and even competition, in which anyone can beat anyone”, he indicates. “Winning is very difficult, but we are ambitious and we are excited to maintain the level shown so far”, toadds Rivera. Likewise, the coach has recognized the great work carried out by Juan Diego García so far, describing it as “exceptional” in recent seasons. “We will try to live up to it,” he concludes.
