Miguel Oliveira Returns to MotoGP at French Grand Prix After Injury Break

Miguel Oliveira is back on the track this weekend at the French MotoGP. The 30-year-old rider is returning after missing three races due to a shoulder injury. He suffered the injury during the sprint race at the Argentine GP when Spanish rider Fermin Aldeguer collided with him.

Oliveira, who is currently 22nd in the standings with two points from the Thai GP, is set to undergo a medical check tomorrow at Le Mans before joining his Prima Pramac team.

A Difficult Season for Oliveira

Oliveira’s season has been tough so far. He’s been out for two months, and his absence has coincided with a struggling Prima Pramac team. His teammate, Jack Miller, and replacement, Augusto Fernandez, have failed to score points in recent races.

The Portuguese rider is grateful for his team’s support during his recovery. “I’m very happy to announce my return to racing this weekend in Le Mans,” he said. “This event marks not only my physical return but the culmination of a demanding recovery process made possible by my team’s unwavering support.”

Team Support

The Prima Pramac team has been instrumental in Oliveira’s recovery. Team director Gino Borsoi is happy to have Oliveira back. “Miguel’s championship starts here in France,” he said. “Our job is to help him adapt physically and keep up with a bike that’s evolved over the past few months. The key now is patience and steady progress without adding pressure.”

Oliveira knows it won’t be easy to get back up to speed. “I know regaining my rhythm will be a challenge, but with my team behind me, I believe I can do it,” he said. The Yamaha Family also welcomed Oliveira back, expressing their excitement on social media.

The French GP features a sprint race on Saturday at 2 p.m. and the main event on Sunday at 1 p.m. Alex Márquez (Ducati) leads the championship with 140 points. His brother, Marc Márquez, is second with 139 points, while Miller is 16th with 19 points.
