Miguel Alvariño hangs the recurve bronze in Gwangju

The Spanish Miguel Alvariño won the bronze medal in the recurve modality in the second round of the World Cup held in the South Korean city of Gwangju.

The Galician goalkeeper beat the local Je Deok Kim 6-4 in the quarterfinal match (30-29, 27-30, 29-28, 29-30 and 29-28), losing in the semifinals with fellow South Korean Woo Seok Lee by 3-7 (28-27, 25-27, 28-30, 29-29, 27-30).

In the fight for bronze, Alvariño beat Dutchman Rick Van der Ven 6-2 (29-28, 29-27, 26-27, 29-25), getting the second medal for the Spanish team after the silver achieved this Saturday by Andrea Muñoz in compound.
