A migrant girl eight-year-old died this Wednesday while he was in custody of the Border Guard American in Texas, after crossing the southern border with his family.
The United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) office reported that the girl suffered a medical emergency at a Border Guard location, so emergency services went to the scene and transferred her to the hospital, where doctors declared his death.
US authorities are investigating the incident in accordance with US border office protocols and will provide additional information later, according to a statement.
The death of this girl marks the first known death of a migrant child in Border Patrol custody during the Biden Administration, while several minors died during the tenure of former President Donald Trump, including from flu infections, reports the CBS television network .
