Microsoft Teams lets you combine personal and work accounts

Having to switch between your personal and work Microsoft Teams account may soon be a thing of the past, thanks to a new update.

Microsoft is making changes that will allow users combine Teams home and work accounts.

Microsoft says the move will allow for much better communication for Teams users around the world, even opening the door for personal chats while connected to your business network.

“With this update, Teams users in your organization will be able to start a 1:1 chat or group chat with Teams users who are using their personal accounts and vice versa.“, explains Microsoft.

The feature was announced by Microsoft in February 2021, but has now entered the deployment period, which means users will be able to access it soon.

“This extends external access capabilities, allowing Teams users to invite any other federated Teams user to a 1:1 or group chat using an email address or phone number and stay within the privacy policies. your organization’s privacy, security and compliance.”

The update is rolling out to all Microsoft Teams desktop users worldwide.
