Girona coach Míchel Sánchez said they won 2-4 against Granada in the first half of the game he saw “the best football from his team” since he was in charge of italthough he was unhappy with his team’s second half.
“When we perform at our best, we can compete with anyone and if we lower our mentality a little, the rival will surpass us many times over. “These are three very valuable points with a great first half and a second half in which we made some mistakes,” Míchel commented at a press conference after the game.
“In the first half we played the best football I’ve seen in Girona since I’ve been here. We created a lot of scoring situations. “People deserve to be happy, to be happy and to feel euphoria, but we have to keep improving and working,” he added.
Looking ahead to the second half, the coach said: “Granada always creates scoring situations and cannot neglect them not even for a moment.”
“We can’t play with the score, we have to play 100 percent. “If you play with time, it turns against you,” he said.
Míchel made it clear that “Statistics aren’t worth much” and that they need to focus on “the goals ahead.”
“The first is to be able to play in the First Division for three years in a row.. Now it’s illogical to think about other things. “We need a lot of humility, a lot of work and a very good mentality,” he added.
“I am very satisfied with everyday life, which shapes my feelings. We can win or lose, but we are a team that is competitive“, concluded the Girona coach.
