Former Australia captain Michael Clarke described Prithvi Shaw, the underdog debutant, as a brilliant player. He has also said that this young player plays exactly like the explosive batsman Virender Sehwag. Clarke said this in a documentary ‘Down Underdogs’.
Clarke says: ‘He’s a great player like Sehwag. Sehwag was a great player, who used to move the game forward. People like me love this type of cricket very much. That’s why Sehwag has been one of my favorite players. I would like to see the Indian team keep their faith in Prithvi Shaw.
Clarke also spoke about Prithvi Shaw’s poor showing on the Australian tour. He said: ‘Prithvi Shaw is still young. It wasn’t right to have such high expectations of him. Now they need more time. This was his first time in Australia. You want to give him every chance, but unfortunately he missed the Adelaide Trial. This was their first tour of Australia. I have no doubt that he will make a good comeback.
After a great performance in the U-19 World Cup, Prithvi Shaw got a chance to debut in international cricket in the year 2018. This player also played brilliant innings for Team India on a few occasions but due to lack of consistency, this player is currently running out of Team India.
