A Close Call for MIBR in the Esports World Cup Qualifiers
Last Sunday, the MIBR VALORANT team clashed with 100 Thieves in a do-or-die match for a spot in the Esports World Cup. One player stood out – Erick “Aspas” Santos, who finished with an impressive +27 score.
The best-of-five series was played on five maps: Icebox, Split, Haven, Ascent, and Pearl. Despite a tough fight, 100 Thieves took the win, eliminating the Brazilian team from the competition. Aspas, however, had a standout performance, ending the series with +27.
Aspas racked up 91 kills, outdoing his opponents. He had 18 more kills than Cryocells, his closest competitor, and 21 more than his teammate artzin. Aspas also had the highest ADR (average damage per round) of 163 and got 18 first kills, just one behind Cryocells.
A Strong Performance, But Not Enough
Even with Aspas’ impressive numbers, MIBR couldn’t secure a spot in the Esports World Cup, which now includes VALORANT. The team’s dream of winning the title will have to wait until 2026.

The Brazilian team put up a good fight, but it wasn’t enough to take them to the next level. Aspas’ performance was a highlight of the match, and fans are already looking forward to what he’ll bring to the table in 2026.
