The Counter-Strike 2 scene just got a whole lot more intense. MIBR FE, one of the top teams, just went head-to-head with FlyQuest RED in a match that could make or break their chances. Both teams were on thin ice after losing their opening matches, and another loss would mean saying goodbye to their title hopes.
The stakes were high, with the winner staying alive in the ESL Impact League Season 7 Finals. MIBR FE had already taken a hit from NIP Impact, losing 13-7 in their first match. Now, they were up against FlyQuest RED in a best-of-three showdown. The first map, Dust2, didn’t go their way – FlyQuest took it 13-10. But MIBR FE bounced back, winning Nuke 13-11 and tying the series.
The Decisive Map
It all came down to the third map, Inferno. The Brazilian team struggled to get points on the board and ultimately fell 13-6. That loss marked the end of their run in the tournament. The only Brazilian team left standing is now FURIA, who has already secured a spot in the semifinals, set to take place on Saturday (24).
As MIBR FE packed up their gear and headed home, they took to Twitter to thank their fans for the support:
FIM DE ESL IMPACT. 😢
We didn’t get to show our best in the competition and ended up falling early. Thanks to everyone who followed us and supported the team. 💙#SomosMIBR pic.twitter.com/cav7qtP7O8
