The road to the Esports World Cup just got a lot tougher for MIBR’s VALORANT team. On Sunday, they faced off against 100 Thieves in a do-or-die match. The winner would snatch the last spot in the upcoming tournament, set to take place in Dubai this July.

The Esports World Cup is one of the biggest esports competitions out there, with a ton of games and a hefty prize pool. This year, VALORANT is joining the mix. MIBR and 100 Thieves were battling it out for that last spot. The match was a best-of-five, and the team that came out on top would be heading to Dubai.
The Match
MIBR started strong, taking the first game on Icebox with a 13-9 win. They kept the momentum going, crushing 100 Thieves 13-4 on Split. But the Americans weren’t ready to give up yet. They fired back on Haven, winning 13-3 and narrowing the gap. MIBR had another chance to seal the deal on Ascent, but 100 Thieves took that game 13-0, tying the series. It all came down to the final game on Pearl.
In a stunning turnaround, 100 Thieves took the win 13-9, snatching the last spot in the Esports World Cup from MIBR’s grasp. The Brazilian team’s dreams of competing in the tournament will have to wait another year.
