Brazilian esports giant MIBR has been eliminated from the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 Counter-Strike 2 tournament after a decisive loss to Team Liquid, marking a setback for one of the nation’s premier teams.
MIBR fell 2-0 in a best-of-three series against North America’s Team Liquid on Sunday, November 30, 2025.
The loss concludes MIBR’s journey in the tournament’s second phase.
Team Liquid secured victories with scores of 13-5 on Inferno and 19-17 on Mirage.
Despite MIBR’s exit, Brazil’s representation continues with another team, Imperial, still competing in the second phase.
Imperial is scheduled to face M80 on Monday, December 1, at 4:30 PM UTC.
A victory in their best-of-three series would guarantee Imperial a spot in the third phase of the championship.
Two other Brazilian teams, FURIA and paiN Gaming, have already secured their places in the third phase.
Should Imperial lose their upcoming match, they will have one additional opportunity to qualify before facing elimination.
