A new face on the MIBR Counter-Strike 2 squad, Russian player Klimentii “kl1m” Krivosheev, landed in hot water recently. During a FACEIT match on Tuesday afternoon, he directed a racial slur at another player. The incident quickly drew attention, shining a light on behavior in online competitive gaming.
News of the event first broke through journalist Victor Porto at Dust2 Brasil. His report included a screenshot from the game’s chat. In this image, kl1m can be clearly seen typing: “What do you want from me monkey.” Leonardo Hartkam, another player in that match, captured this moment.

The chat log shows more than just that one comment. After the initial slur, the MIBR player added, “don’t play CS.” Another player, identified as icepeek and apparently from Chile, then responded with strong words. He typed, “you are very stupid and a bad player.” This shows the exchange escalated quickly.
Victor Porto’s Dust2 report also shared more details from Leonardo Hartkam. Hartkam, who provided the screenshot, explained the lead-up to the incident. He mentioned the team was trying to talk in English during the game. However, kl1m was not joining in the team’s efforts. This led to icepeek complaining, and that’s when the verbal clash started.
FACEIT, the platform where the match took place, has clear rules for player behavior. Their Code of Conduct states that all players must interact respectfully. This applies to both spoken and written communication. Harassment, abuse, or intimidation are strictly forbidden. The platform does not allow offensive or vulgar language, nor any kind of bullying. They stress that player communication should always be helpful and work together.
The FACEIT rules also advise players to treat everyone with respect. They encourage a cooperative spirit to help teams win games. Players are also told to know when to take a break. This helps them avoid making impulsive decisions or saying things they might regret.
kl1m’s Statement and MIBR’s Silence
The same Tuesday night, kl1m played his first match for MIBR. They faced UnderDogs in the ESL Challenger Cup 2. During this game, the Russian player posted a statement on X, which used to be known as Twitter. He quickly deleted this post. As of now, the MIBR organization has not made any official comment on the situation.

kl1m’s deleted post on X read: “Before you post any news, see what the player wrote to me on Faceit. Then you can write your news. If calling him a monkey after that is seen as bad and forbidden, then I will apologize. But honestly, that makes no sense.”
