The Counter-Strike 2 scene just got a whole lot more exciting. Three Brazilian teams took to the servers, and one of them pulled off a stunning upset against a multimillion-dollar organization.
The BLAST.tv Austin Major has been the stage for some incredible moments in Brazilian esports. And this Monday was no exception. MIBR took down Falcons in a thrilling best-of-three series.

Falcons has a Saudi investor backing them, and they’re known for throwing big money at their roster. Their latest signing, Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, allegedly cost around $14.4 million. But when it comes to Counter-Strike 2, cash doesn’t guarantee a win. MIBR proved that, taking down Falcons 2-1. The final map was decided in overtime, with three Brazilian players making it happen.
The score was 22-20 on Inferno, and MIBR eliminated Falcons from the tournament. Their next challenge is against FaZe on Tuesday at 5 PM Brasília time, with a spot in the top 16 on the line.

Other Brazilian teams on the rise
FURIA and paiN also scored wins on Monday, taking down B8 and Lynn Vision, respectively. They’re moving on to the third stage of the competition, joining Legacy. MIBR is the only Brazilian team that hasn’t secured a spot yet, but they’ll try to change that on Tuesday.
